Where are you from?

I am a local to Southern California as I have lived in many different cities in mainly Orange and LA County. The main thing I have learned and am still learning is that in LA and in general we can get caught up in thinking we need to be someone different especially when you are meeting others with the same insecurities as you. It can get so easy to get caught up in what we think success needs to look like, and when we stop being blinded by the flashing lights one can find the peace and success they were really looking for.

What do you consider to be your major creative influences, across genres?

Movies, Movies, Movies. I actually watched a lot of Disney movies growing up and being introduced to these magnificent worlds is what really drove me, because I wanted to be a part of that. I love the work of Christopher Waltz and Michael Fassbender. From a voice over perspective I absolutely love Anime. The real raw emotion that the Japanese Voice Over Actors can portray with such depth and range is something that I truly aspire to be like. Honestly, that is where my passion for voice acting come from and the goal is to work on video games and animated films/ series. Also when it comes to darker things I love Tim Burton.

What are your thoughts on the current explosion of horror media in the mainstream? How do you feel about it and where do you think it's stemming from?

First of all, I am not really a fan of being scared haha. I do love that horror is becoming more accepted or that there is more awareness for it becuase a lot of great work comes out of the whole production of it. I believe this is stemming from our culture's changing view on things that we used to shun and believe to be taboo. It feels like now we are embracing our darker selves and horror lends itself to our more darker imaginations, but we are realizing that darker does not mean bad or inhumane.

I think that horror is also being epxlored outside of the stereotypical hack and slash which is allowing for more nuance in how the idea of horror is being represented and shared. I think with more, I suppose, softcore horror like Stranger Things it is allowing more people to be a part of the horror to their comfort which is really just bringing more people together.

What's your favorite scary story, across mediums?

I love Stranger Things (2016-2025). I enjoy the more fantastical and science fiction horror stories. A Quiet Place (2018) is also one I enjoyed.

Is there a particular craft program that you've done that you feel you learned the most from?

I am a Seven Pillars actor from the Acting Studio of Orange County through and through. I believe the truth of the matter is that you can find a million different approaches and styles, but again, if you don't do the work on yourself to really be able to explore you own emotions then it won't matter what method you use. Acting is bring people, creatures, beings, etc.. to life, and we have all lived a life. Bring those real life pains, loves, fears, emotions with you and embrace them.

If you could have been a part of any existing horror movie, what would it be and who would you play? Why?

So, pretty much any villain, haha. A creature or a psychologically disturbed individual. I would have to pick Chef Julian Slowik from The Menu (2022). I love these very cerebral villains that create these elaborate schemes to meet some beautiful end for others and/or themselves in their eyes. I love the motivation being something that could be normal but then it is taken wayyyyy too far, or not far enough? Haha I love these kinds of characters and I think it is just one of those things where people who in real life are super nice and friendly can play these "villains" so well because we can see where they might be coming from and that I believe gives them more depth because we can paint them in this way that touches on their humanity in this twisted way.

What advice do you have for creatives that are just starting out?

Find your voice. Are you going to have to take roles you might not want right out of the gate? sure, but always remember who you are and the roles you fit because of who you are. I think people look at typecasting and immediately think of it as a negative thing, and while casting has room to be more flexible, when you essentially typecast yourself I think the roles you fit will find you.

The process is a very active one, no one is going to find you if you don't let people know you exist in the right ways. When you audition, audition with intention and resolve. Get in touch with all the parts of you. The more you can accept your whole being, the more depth and life you will bring to the characters that have chosen you.
